Responsibilities
- Periodic closing: Lead and monitor the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes in revenue recognition, PPE, ROU, clients’s assets, and financial instruments, and accruals posting and reversals
- Accounting and reporting: Gain a thorough understanding of the busines processes to optimize the Record to Report (R2R) processes to ensure scalability and resilience and compliance with internal and external reporting requirements, especially on IFRS and local GAAP
- Internal controls: Coordinate with cross-funtional teams to obtain buy-ins to ensure finance related internal controls are properly implemented and documented, and business processes changes are identified and updated in the relevant internal controls timely
- Statutory compliance: Manage the delivery processes for the preparation of statutory financial statements and coordination of statutory audits; and coordinate internal teams and external service providers to ensure the compliance of statutory compliance requirements for all group entities located in different regions
- Group structure: Work with internal legal and compliance team, and external advisors to understand new laws and regulations globallyand their impact to our current and potential businesses and structures
- Finance transformation: Initiate finance transformation by working with cross-funcational teams to design, testing and roll-out automations of finance systems/tools/processes to build for scale; and assess new business initiatives to integrate them effectively into the period-end closing workflows
- Leadership: Set proper OKRs for, and mentor and supervise team members to achieve organisational objectives and keep on meeting tight deadlines
- Others: Ad-hoc duties deemed fit per business growth and strategic direction
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, accounting, financial engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
- Certification in accounting/finance/business analysis is preferred (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CMA)
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a similar role, ideally from big 4 or a multi-national financial institution
- Experience in managing accounting software migration and process improvements
- Deep understanding of IFRS and relevant legislations, policies and regulations
- Attention to details and problem-solving mindset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
