Working at Wintermute

We are looking for a C++ Trading Platform Developer who is passionate about technology, interested in both low level details of how computer hardware operates and high-level design of large systems, as well as in data infrastructure. Someone who likes opening the hood to see how things work, has understanding of data structures, experience writing client-server network applications, and writing and optimising code for high performance. We welcome your previous experience from your own personal projects as well as commercial experience. We are looking for people who are passionate about technology and have experience looking under the hood to see how C++ standard libraries and other solutions are implemented. Interest in algorithmic and quantitative trading is a plus.

What will you work on

A great advantage of this position is that it is varied, and it is also up to you to shape it in the direction that matches your talents and company needs. The focus of the role would be to work on the global trading platform that spans across many continents, with real time data capture, order entry on dozens of exchanges, robust connectivity and built in monitoring. You would be working on expanding and scaling up our trading platform, mainly using C++ and Python.

All the workstations and servers are running Linux, no windows in trading and the development team. We also keep things simple and easy to understand wherever possible which means designing, scalable and robust C++ and Python code is a main skill. We will share more technical details in the interviews. You will have opportunity to improve your knowledge of software optimisations, of building robust large-scale systems and to understand crypto currency trading.

Hard Skills requirements

Nature of the role

We are a hyper-growth startup in one of the most dynamic industries today. We are looking for a Settlements Specialist who has expertise in settlements in the crypto space or has traditional financial markets experience. The individual must easily adapt to the entrepreneurial, varied and highly dynamic nature of a startup business.

In this role you will work closely with the Middle Office, Trading, Business Development and Product teams.

Responsibilities

• Communicating and liaising with counterparties to ensure they are satisfied with the OTC services that Wintermute provides
• Trade settlement - communicating with trading counterparties to ensure timely and accurate settlements
• Trade reconciliation - ensuring the trades that we agree to settle have the correct trade economics
• Process improvement - working with developers to help automate processes or design ways to streamline current processes
• Answering trade queries internally and externally

Hard Skills Requirements

• 0-3 years experience in settlements in the crypto or traditional finance space, we can also consider applicants fresh out of University.
• Prior experience with Operations functions and / or counterparty relationship management in a crypto/financial services company with high-volume and complex operations (multiple products, multiple geographies); experience in an hft/liquidity provision business is a significant advantage
• Excellent Excel skills and ability to analyse and work with tabular data
• Experience in process improvement is a significant advantage
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or another Quantitative Field
• Strong interest and curiosity in blockchain technology & crypto

The Role

We are a hyper-growth startup in one of the most dynamic industries today. We are looking for a Legal Counsel who has experience in traditional financial markets and can easily adapt to the entrepreneurial, varied and highly dynamic nature of Wintermute’s business, as well as to the challenges and opportunities specific to the cryptocurrency business. This role will work closely with the General Counsel and Associate GC and cover all jurisdictions where Wintermute is currently active (UK, Singapore, USA), as well as all products and relevant areas of law. In this role, you will have a high level of responsibility and autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Commercial agreements: draft and negotiate agreements in relation to our business lines (OTC, liquidity provision), borrowing/lending partnerships, and other agreements between entities
• Regulatory compliance: work closely with the General Counsel and Associate GC to monitor the regulatory landscape across jurisdictions and assist with ensuring financial regulatory compliance under each regulatory regime ( FCA, MAS, SEC, CTFC, etc.)
• Corporate structuring: manage the corporate structure across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
• Corporate law: support fundraising & transactions, equity investments in third-party companies, M&A activity
• Commercial disputes: assist the legal team and the business to resolve any commercial disputes efficiently while protecting the Company’s interests

Other Responsibilities

• External counsel: Manage external counsel as required, e.g. employment law, counsel in relation to other jurisdictions, etc. Assist with managing legal spending and reviewing legal bills

Hard Skills Requirements

• 3-6 years of experience practising law (qualified) at a top-tier law firm or as in-house counsel for a firm specialized in financial services, fintech and/or crypto;
• Experience working in a high-performance, dynamic and high-growth environment is strongly preferred
• Strong grasp of commercial law in relation to financial services, e.g. ISDAs, financial services contracts (OTC, structured products, lending agreements etc.)
• In-depth knowledge of FCA regulations in relation to proprietary trading, financial services and crypto; general knowledge of regulations in other jurisdictions, specifically Singapore and US a plus
• Experience/understanding of DeFi i.e. types of tokens, token governance, DAOs, blockchain foundations and decentralized organizations is a significant advantage
• Experience with commercial litigation or dispute resolution is a plus
• Ability and interest to learn other areas of law quickly, at least at a general level
• Proven ability to see the bigger picture and commercial strategy; quickly understand new functional areas and have a cross-functional mindset
• Strong interest and curiosity in algorithmic trading and decentralized finance

We are looking for a Business Development & Partnerships Director of Asia who will continue our ambitious expansion in the region. We are looking for someone who knows the Asian financial services markets, is curious about digital assets and is excited to make a big impact for Wintermute in Asia. You will be responsible for building new as well as growing Wintermute’s existing businesses in Asia. You will own opportunities in the region from end to end and develop your own strategic growth plan, while also getting advice and guidance from the team. We have the best liquidity products in the market, we work with many of the most prominent blockchain projects, we have many strategic growth opportunities in the pipeline, and a long line of counterparties wanting to develop relationships with us. What will you work on**

As a leading algorithmic trading firm in digital assets with one of the largest OTC desks and a wide spectrum of products, your role will be varied with a certain focus that fits your skills and company’s objectives.

Responsibilities

• Grow institutional OTC business in Asia - this includes developing and executing your own growth plan in regards to Asia banks, asset managers and funds 
• Work closely with other teams to bring new products (e.g. new derivatives products) to the market, this includes collecting customer feedback, testing products, launch plans, etc
• Grow the crypto project market making business - deepen and build relationships with high profile projects in the region, as well as local VCs and other important ecosystem players 
• Growth partner relationships with important partners such as exchanges, custodians, lenders and other infrastructure providers
• Work with various cross-functional teams to drive brand awareness in the key markets in Asia (Singapore, Hong Kong, S. Korea, Japan, South-East Asia, Australia)
• Execute a structured business development process and work with the teams to further improve operational efficiency (e.g. CRM, effectiveness of campaigns, etc)
• Keep track of key launches and news in the crypto eco-system and proactively identify cooperation and business development opportunities

Hard Skills Requirements

• Experience in traditional financial services experience - high performing teams in banking, asset management, funds; experience with eFX platforms is a significant advantage
• Experience with spot and derivatives OTC products is a significant advantage, e.g. options, structured products 
• Experience in business development, partnerships or any client-facing role (B2B sales, investment banking, etc)
• Experience delivering business results - be ready to talk about numbers/quota achievement, etc
• Experience in several important Asian markets; deep understanding of both Asian and Western mindsets and ways of doing business

Working for the DeFi protocol

We are looking for a Graduate/Junior Software Developer in DeFi with strong fundamental background in coding and curiosity about DeFi, HFT, market making and crypto trading. At Wintermute, you will be responsible for integrating new protocols right from the start. You will have the opportunity to get a deeper understanding of how various DEX’s trade and be responsible for optimising the execution on those venues, whilst also getting advice and guidance from very experienced developers and traders, including the founders/management team. You will get a lot of independence and responsibility right away, and you’ll learn at an unprecedented speed! No legacy systems, no corporate bureaucracy, no multiple levels of approvals. It is up to you to make an impact. You will act like an owner and your incentives will be completely aligned with those of the company!

What you will work on

A great advantage of this position is that it is varied, and it is also up to you to shape it in the direction that matches your talents and company needs. You will have the opportunity to help integrate DEX’s on chains; includes but not limited to: 1) Improving trading signals for various protocols 2) Improving execution logic to maximise PnL 3) Troubleshooting trades/failed execution to get a deep understanding of the protocol and improve the trading setup.

Hard skills requirements

• Familiar with at least two of the following programming languages (in Python, Rust, Java, C++)
• Curiosity in the DeFi space proven by doing extra-curricular project/work/research in this space (CeFi trading does not count!)
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
• Understanding concepts of asynchronous IO
• Familiarity with Linux/git
• Trading knowledge isn’t required but willingness and curiosity to learn algorithmic, high-frequency, quantitative, market making trading and blockchain fundamentals is crucial

You will lead the engineering team, design back-end and front-end architecture, write and release top quality code and refine DevOps practices. Hard Skills Requirements

• 4+ years of demonstrable engineering experience in either a professional and personal capacity.
• Full stack awareness with focus on componentisation, managing applications/microservices and API designs.
• Architecting systems that manage financial data, such as a trade order lifecycle from request to execution.
• Strong working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and Python3.8+ and OOP principles.
• Familiarity with common network protocols such as HTTP, WS and FIX.

• Blockchain Fundamentals such as consensus mechanisms, nodes, web3.

We are looking for a Senior Front-End Engineer who is passionate about building products/applications that people find useful and that help grow the business. You will be responsible for all things Front-end related; this includes developing front end applications for the protocol as well as internal trading applications. Hard Skills Requirements

• Knowledge of front-end tech stack: node.js, npm, javascript, typescript and popular frameworks such as React (please have examples front-ends that you built ready)

Nice to have requirements

• Basic understanding of infrastructure required for frontend/servers:  CDN, Cloudflare or similar, webservers.
• Good understanding of blockchain basics: blocks, accounts, transactions, smart contracts 
• Experience with Web3
