DeFi Quant Researcher @ Vesta
54d - Research current DeFi primitives including AMMs, lending protocols, NFT marketplaces, among others.
- Work on cutting-edge research projects in market economics, mechanism design, trading systems and risk frameworks.
- Writing research proposals and white papers that cater to experts and non-specialists.
- Build new platforms and product suites under the Vesta brand.
- Develop strong industry and company knowledge.
- Masters or PhD preferably in disciplines related to math, economics and finance.
- Interest in research topics in decentralized finance, crypto-economics and blockchain in general.
- Prior experience in crypto and preferably DeFi in designing and prototyping trading systems and risk framework.
- Ability to independently design and execute research plans to answer conceptual questions and quantify solutions.

Quantitative Researcher - Protocol @ Vesta
179d - Primary responsibility is to work with the protocol researchers to devise and translate ideas into algorithms. Ability to gather, maintain and analyze on-chain and centralized exchange data in support of major and minor cryptocurrencies.
- Backtest and simulate the algorithm in historical data and mock data.
- Ability to conduct market structure and market behavior research in on-chain markets.
- Build relationships with the engineering team to implement algorithm. Closely partner with multiple teams across the organization in the execution of joint research work.
- Excellent quantitative skills, as evidenced by formal training in statistics, applied mathematics, operations research, economics, computer science, physics, or related quantitative filed. Extensive experience in utilizing those skills in an applied research environment. A PhD is highly desirable.
- Minimum 1 years of work experience in investment research function of a financial firm.
- Strong understanding of the use of computer technology in financial and economic research, with statistical programming skills (Python, Java), data management and retrieval acumen (preferably SQL/Spark) and Linux literacy.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work efficiently and multi-task effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment. This will include end-to-end research project work under from data gathering to hypothesis testing and model implementation.

DeFi Quant Researcher
Vesta the largest native stablecoin protocol on Arbitrum having seen >$1B in total volume. Besides contributing to the stablecoin protocol, our team is looking to expand the Vesta ecosystem with a suite of new products. Our team is based in Vancouver with the option to be partially or fully remote depending on the position.
The role
Vesta is looking for a DeFi financial engineer to join the research team. The candidate should hold a PhD or masters degree in disciplines related to economics and finance. The position is remote-optional, with the recommended option to be in person in our Vancouver office.
