About Waku

We are building Waku as a public good infrastructure. Waku is the messaging layer of Web3.

It is a decentralized, censorship-resistant, privacy-preserving communication network that enables anyone to send and receive messages without worrying about surveillance or deplatforming.

We are developing 3 open source implementations of Waku:

• Nwaku: the reference implementation and service node
• Js-waku: for the browser
• Go-waku: to integrate as a library in native applications

We are enabling Ethereum builders to create new projects with a fully decentralized architecture, think dApp to Wallet notifications, NFT marketplaces, censorship-resistant chat, layer-2 decentralization and more.

We are looking for a Software Engineer who is passionate about Ethereum, and decentralization. And who would relish the opportunity to champion Waku to other Web3 projects and developers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and document Waku Golang libraries (go-waku)
• Maintain, improve, troubleshoot Waku React Native, the React Native wrapper of go-waku
• Implement new protocols as defined by the Research Team
• Investigate and fix issues in go-waku and upstream libraries such as go-libp2p
• Optimize go-waku and upstream libraries for the mobile/React Native
• Support dApp developers in using go-waku and Waku Golang libraries

You ideally will have

• Experience building applications with complex logic, cutting edge technology or applied research
• Ability to learn new concepts and technologies quickly, you are a polyglot
• Open to maintaining a native library for React Native
• Experience building libraries in Golang, for network and mobile environments
• Good communication skills (written and conversational)

Compensation

The Role:

Status seeks a motivated and entrepreneurial Head of Investor Relations and Fundraising Manager to join our fully remote, global team and help us build and manage relationships with stakeholders across the Web3 ecosystem and beyond.

This is a new, exciting opportunity to help shape the future success of Status. Status has been operating as a blockchain venture studio, and comprises a number of web3 infrastructure projects. We are looking for an individual to help further develop and execute upon our fundraising plans in parallel with our rebranding efforts, through working closely with our Founders, Finance and Communications teams.

The ideal candidate will have considerable experience in web3, a deep understanding of the investment landscape, and a proven track record of successfully communicating with and engaging investors in a nascent industry.

As our Head of Investor Relations, you’ll be joining a currently well-capitalized, cryptocurrency startup in its growth phase.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive investor relations strategy that aligns with the project goals and objectives of our Co-founders & teams
• Seek out and maintain relationships with current and potential investors, including both traditional and crypto venture capital firms / investors
• Develop investor confidence and belief in the company’s mission and strategy
• Communicate the company’s financial and business performance, progress towards milestones, and future plans to investors and other stakeholders
• Respond to investor inquiries and coordinate earnings calls, analyst days, and other investor events alongside Co-founders
• Work closely with the Co-founders and other members of the leadership team to ensure consistent messaging and transparent communication with investors and our core contributors

About Codex

We’re a diverse team of experienced researchers and engineers scattered around the world working at the intersection of P2P networks and bleeding-edge Zero Knowledge technology. We’re building the next generation storage engine that attempts to “untie the knot” of incentivized storage. Our goal is to deliver a more advanced decentralized storage protocol that pushes the state of the art of decentralized storage solutions forward. We’re looking for an experienced p2p networking engineer with hands-on experience designing and implementing state of the art networking protocols and distributed systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain state of the art p2p protocols and decentralized storage solutions
• Coordinate with the ongoing testing efforts to identify and eliminate instabilities in the existing codebase and bring it to production levels quality
• Implement and design new features as part of roadmap milestones

Nimbus is a research team that focuses on developing an Ethereum client and library targeting both Ethereum and the upcoming, proof-of-stake-based ETH2. We believe that the largest deployment of Ethereum will potentially be on embedded systems, Nimbus will be designed to perform well on embedded, mobile, and generally resource-restricted devices. The extensible, configurable, and modular design of Nimbus will make it production ready for Web 3.0 and will ensure that it can be supported and maintained across all goals of Ethereum 2.0.

Building the stack from the ground up, we’re translating the latest Ethereum 2.0 research into practical, performant and reusable libraries to provide fertile exploration ground for further R&D. Check our latest update!

Key responsibilities

• Automation of infrastructure deployment, configuration, and scaling
• Maintenance of monitoring, logging, and backup systems
• Development of continuous integration platforms and scripts
• Ensuring security of hosts and other online resources
• Daily monitoring of all services and responding to breakage and security incidents
• Maintaining a written knowledge base regarding all practices and processes followed by the team, including step-by-step guides, check lists, trouble-shooting tips and other resources
• Improving the observability of the Nimbus software by implementing additional metrics and tuning the logging output
• Detailed reporting of all encountered issues to the Nimbus development team

The role

This role will be part of a new team that will make a provable and private WASM engine that runs everywhere. As a research engineer, you will be responsible for researching, designing, analyzing and implementing circuits that allow for proving private computation of execution in WASM. This includes having a deep understanding of relevant ZK proof systems and tooling (zk-SNARK, Circom, Plonk/Halo 2, zk-STARK, etc), as well as different architectures (zk-EVM Community Effort, Polygon Hermez and similar) and their trade-offs. You will collaborate with the Vac Research team, and work with requirements from our new Logos program. As one of the first hires of a greenfield project, you are expected to take on significant responsibility, while collaborating with other research engineers, including compiler engineers and senior Rust engineers.

• Research, analyze and design proof systems and architectures for private computation
• Be familiar and adapt to research needs zero-knowledge circuits written in Rust Design and implement zero-knowledge circuits in Rust
• Write specifications and communicate research findings through write-ups

The role

This role will be part of a new team that will make a provable and private WASM engine that runs everywhere. As a senior Rust engineer, you will be responsible for researching, designing, analyzing and implementing circuits that allow for proving private computation of execution in WASM. This includes having an understanding of relevant ZK proof systems and tooling (zk-SNARK, Circom, Plonk/Halo 2, zk-STARK, etc), as well as different architectures (zk-EVM Community Effort, Polygon Hermez and similar) and their trade-offs. You will also bring a production engineering mindset and ensure the code base is developed and maintained in a sane fashion (testing, code structure, performance, etc). Status Desktop is currently in beta for Mac, Windows and Linux platforms. Current product focus is on the privacy-centric messenger and group chat functionality, and we’ve just kicked off development of our new ‘multi-chain from the ground up’ crypto Wallet. Status desktop is currently built using Nim & QT for the frontend, and it shares a common backend with Status mobile that is written in Go. We are currently in the middle of a large refactor of our architecture. The desktop team is looking for a Test Automation Engineer to help us create a consumer level quality application. In this role you will be working closely with designers to fully understand the design vision for the product, and working with devs to create automated functional tests using the Squish framework (end to end and regression tests). The desktop team is spread out in North America, Europe and Australia, with crossover work hours being the European timezone afternoon on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
