About Status Network

Status Network is a forward-looking zkEVM L2 rollup on Ethereum tailored for social applications and seamless access to DeFi yield opportunities for everyone. Status Network is dedicated to providing an open playground for communities to build on and thrive, while also incentivising liquidity thanks to a native yield market. We are deeply committed to decentralisation, with a focus on minimising censorship risks and preserving the right to privacy.

Status Network is tightly integrated within the broader IFT ecosystem. The IFT is building the tools and infrastructure for the advancement of a secure, private, collaborative and open internet, which includes the Status app.

Status Network is set to become a settlement layer for these different protocols and social applications, offering the most seamless and open social infrastructure to build truly onchain organisations. Status Network will bring direct utility to the SNT token with upgraded tokenomics taking into account sequencer revenues.

The role

The L2 Lead Developer at Status Network will be responsible for the comprehensive deployment and ongoing operation of this new zkEVM L2 rollup. This role includes full oversight of the infrastructure setup in collaboration with a RaaS (Rollup as a Service) provider and other infrastructure partners. The Lead Developer will manage the integration of essential third-party partners required for the blockchain’s operation, including but not limited to bridges, RPC endpoint providers, developers tooling, blockchain indexers and explorers, and fiat-to-crypto gateways, with a focus on delivering the smoothest developer experience.

This position offers a unique opportunity to lead the engineering efforts for the launch and subsequent growth of a groundbreaking zk L2 rollup. You will be at the forefront of developing a platform that not only supports decentralised applications but also integrates social and financial functionalities deeply within its architecture, paving the way for a new era of onchain social interaction and economic exchange.

Key responsibilities:

• Spearhead the implementation, launch, and ongoing development of a new zkEVM L2 rollup on Ethereum.
• Oversee the entire infrastructure for the L2 rollup, collaborating with our RaaS and infra providers to ensure high reliability and performance.
• Manage technical integrations with external third-party providers as well as internal teams, including adapting Nimbus client software for the rollup and working with the Status App client teams for application integration.
• Collaborate on the codebase of our L2 stack partner to innovate and enhance the security and performance of our zkEVM rollup stack.
• Drive the development process of Status Network by establishing rigorous testing protocols on testnets and mainnet, implementing best practices in coding, security, and system design, and coordinating deployment processes to ensure the rollup’s integrity and availability at launch.
• Engage with the community and developers through outreach, documentation, and support to encourage adoption and feedback for continuous improvement.
• Lead, mentor, and expand our team of developers and engineers, promoting a culture of innovation and collaboration.

You will ideally have:

• Strong experience in the Ethereum ecosystem, particularly with L2 solutions like zkEVM rollups.
• Advanced knowledge of Solidity programming and a deep understanding of blockchain mechanics.
• Proven track record of leading software development teams, with experience successfully managing cross-functional teams.
• History of contributing to or leading open-source projects.
• Expertise in cloud infrastructure management, especially with AWS, including configuring and managing scalable and secure environments suitable for blockchain applications
• Proficient in setting up and maintaining continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline development and deployment processes, especially in the context of open-source software.
• Experience with implementing and managing decentralised and distributed systems, demonstrating a robust understanding of the challenges and solutions specific to these environments.
  • A hands-on approach and technical proficiency in troubleshooting, optimising, and innovating blockchain solutions under various constraint
  • Experience with various blockchain infrastructures and applications, including node operation, blockchain explorer integration, DeFi and NFT lending protocols, and cross-chain bridge mechanisms.
• Understanding of other blockchain and cryptographic technologies, including consensus algorithms, DeFi smart contract security, and network protocols.

Compensation

The role

DevOps is a buzzword, but it’s also generic enough to encompass the breadth of tasks required in supporting development teams. There are many ways to make the lives of developers easier, and everyone has their own best way, which also means every team has their own way. There is no perfect way to make everyone happy with the same thing.

Supporting developers involves debugging obscure bash scripts from years ago that nobody remembers. It means biting on a piece of wood and using data formats turned programming languages like YAML to configure CI jobs. It means tracking down minute differences between releases of packages and libraries causing unexpected crashes. It means rewriting the same Dockerfile for the 5th time to allow a project to use one more obscure library. Or tracking down absurd race conditions of multi-threaded tests running in parallel on the same host. Or pulling your hair out at a bug only to realize it works fine after the CI worker host is restarted.

But fundamentally it means wrestling it all into submission and making it run smoothly… at least for as long as you’re there.

If you have the guts to fight against entropy and deterioration of the reality we inhabit, then you just might also be crazy enough to enjoy the struggle while it lasts, and appreciate the eventual fruits of our labour, if you value privacy, freedom, and transparency. Who you are

• You have strong Linux Fundamentals:
  • Distros and package managers

We are seeking a Technical Business Development Lead with a passion for Web3 storage, and decentralization.  If you would relish the opportunity to champion Codex (https://codex.storage/) to other Web3 projects and developers, this could be the perfect opportunity!

As a diverse team of experienced researchers and engineers located in various parts of the world, we work at the intersection of P2P networks and bleeding-edge Zero Knowledge technology.

Our goal is to deliver a more advanced decentralized data storage protocol that improves the primitives of decentralized file storage and delivery.

This role exists to support our project & product goals by providing core business development efforts; helping to create general awareness about the project as well as connecting with potential businesses and DApps interested in participating in the supply/demand of storage within the protocol.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the org externally, establishing early, core relationships/partnerships across third parties, institutions & companies; developing win-win value propositions, supporting evolution of the product with real life use-cases.
• Own the communication with major partners on a regular basis and respond to specific queries; proactively pushing thinking around new product partnerships and other strategic initiatives.
• Responsible for improving awareness about Codex; understanding client needs & feeding back insights to the product team.
• Understand the decentralized storage ecosystem with ability to plan business development efforts by segment and and achieve demonstrable progress in terms of on-boarding protocols/projects to use Codex.
• Assist in financial planning and analysis; explore avenues for tangible revenue growth with an understanding of the role of tokenomics to drive growth.
• Manage processes related to product integrations and coordinate efficiently with client and project team.
• Liaise with Web3 projects that have a strong decentralization and privacy mindset to convey the USP of Codex
• Speak at conferences & run workshops (both online and real world) to introduce projects to Codex (supported by technical team members where required)
• Support dApp developers in using early Codex demos (including during hackathons); able to confidently speak to examples which use Codex to demonstrate specific use cases or frameworks (e.g. React native, Svelte, Vue.js, etc)
• Write guides and blog posts for an audience of Web3 developers
• Over time, help with hiring, onboarding & leading a team of business development team members.

Requirements

• 5+ years work experience with sales or business development
• Technically-minded with a background in software development, engineering, or working with technical products
• Successful track record of establishing win-win partnerships in web3 and/or with emerging technology
• Ability to execute many tasks in parallel across multiple threads, involving numerous stakeholders & clients
• Ability to qualify leads and counterparts rigorously
• Commitment to structured negotiations, partnerships and outcomes
• Excellent written and verbal English & communication skills
• Self-motivated and the ability to work with a high degree of autonomy
• Used to - or quick to get into the habit of - being productive through the means of asynchronous communication
• Have passion for blockchain and decentralized technologies and understand how they work

About Waku

We are building Waku (Waku.org) as a public good infrastructure. Waku is the messaging layer of Web3.

It is a decentralized, censorship-resistant, privacy-preserving communication network that enables anyone to send and receive messages without worrying about surveillance or deplatforming.

We are developing 3 open source implementations of Waku:

• Nwaku: the reference implementation and service node
• Js-waku: for the browser
• Go-waku: to integrate as a library in native applications

We are enabling Ethereum builders to create new projects with a fully decentralized architecture, think dApp to Wallet notifications, NFT marketplaces, censorship-resistant chat, layer-2 decentralization and more.

We are looking for a Software Engineer who is passionate about Ethereum, and decentralization. And who would relish the opportunity to champion Waku to other Web3 projects and developers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and document Waku Golang libraries (go-waku)
• Maintain, improve, troubleshoot Waku React Native, the React Native wrapper of go-waku
• Implement new protocols as defined by the Research Team
• Investigate and fix issues in go-waku and upstream libraries such as go-libp2p
• Optimize go-waku and upstream libraries for the mobile/React Native
• Support dApp developers in using go-waku and Waku Golang libraries

You ideally will have

• Experience building applications with complex logic, cutting edge technology or applied research
• Ability to learn new concepts and technologies quickly, you are a polyglot
• Open to maintaining a native library for React Native
• Experience building libraries in Golang, for network and mobile environments
