Vac builds public good protocols for the decentralized web. We do applied research based on which we build protocols, libraries and publications. As a compiler engineer, you will be responsible for researching, designing, analyzing and implementing zero-knowledge circuits that allow for proving private computation of execution in WASM. This includes having a deep understanding of relevant ZK proof systems and tooling (zk-SNARK, circom, Plonk/Halo 2, zk-STARK, etc), as well as different architectures (zk-EVM Community Effort, Polygon Hermez and similar) and their trade-offs. The role
We are seeking an experienced and talented Head of Copy to manage all content creation across a variety of mediums, including; digital, print, and social media. This role will lead the Copywriting and Technical Documentation team and sits within the Comms Hub which supports the entire organisation with their varied communication needs. The role
This role will be part of a new team that will make a provable and private WASM engine that runs everywhere. As a research engineer, you will be responsible for researching, designing, analyzing and implementing circuits that allow for proving private computation of execution in WASM. This includes having a deep understanding of relevant ZK proof systems and tooling (zk-SNARK, Circom, Plonk/Halo 2, zk-STARK, etc), as well as different architectures (zk-EVM Community Effort, Polygon Hermez and similar) and their trade-offs. Infrastructure means we do everything technical that isn’t programming the actual application. We handle metal hardware, cloud instances, containers, sandboxes, networking, VPNs, storage, databases, caches, websites, CDNs, monitoring, logging, backups, BI platforms, ETL, security of platforms and services ,CI builds for all possible platforms, documentation, and much, much more.
Specialization is nice, but being a jack of all trades is what’s necessary in infrastructure. Automation and documentation are essential to avoid going insane. Handling P2P node configuration, fixing iOS signing issues, debugging memory leaks in software, automating data scraping, tuning firewall rules, and benchmarking applications on windows, would be a normal day here. Status Desktop is currently in beta for Mac, Windows and Linux platforms. Current product focus is on the privacy-centric messenger and group chat functionality, and we’ve just kicked off development of our new ‘multi-chain from the ground up’ crypto Wallet. ÐApp browser and blockchain node functionality will follow next. Status desktop is currently built using Nim & QT for the frontend, and it shares a common backend with Status mobile that is written in Go. We are currently in the middle of a large refactor of our architecture. The desktop team is looking for a Test Automation Engineer to help us create a consumer level quality application.
