Founded by Jump Trading alums, our team solves challenging problems in distributed systems engineering and low-latency optimization, authoring software innovations that enable a new, high-performance decentralized system that is backward-compatible with existing EVM apps and Ethereum infrastructure. The Role

After a strict focus on developing our core technology, the Monad blockchain is quickly approaching its Testnet v0 release. Ahead of that launch, we are excited to welcome a first Growth hire. Because of the nature of our technological offering, Monad has the potential to grow into one of the biggest projects in crypto—your job will be to help it get there. You will work directly with our CEO to devise and execute on strategies that build our presence among developers and crypto-native users.

You will need to be scrappy in tackling the many challenges facing an early-stage project, and strategic in identifying what initiatives or improvements to prioritize. You’ll need to be both creative and data-driven. We are looking for someone who loves crypto, is creative, is ambitious, is organized, and has substantial experience with growing a crypto project.

This role is crucial to Monad’s success, and will ultimately have a massive impact on helping crypto achieve mass adoption.

Requirements

Required:

• You have 2 or more years of experience in growth/marketing for a crypto project, where you’ve meaningfully grown the userbase with clear KPIs
• You are passionate about crypto. You have excellent knowledge of the crypto ecosystem (major projects and what they do, as well as major narratives and personalities on CT)
• You excel at product marketing fundamentals: positioning, messaging, launch management, and sales enablement. You can demonstrate this through the interview process with specific examples, details, and outcomes
• You can balance strategy and execution
• You know how to leverage data
• You are independent; you thrive on a high level of autonomy, responsibility, and ownership
• You are creative
• You have a hustler mentality; founding a company or building side projects is a plus

What you’ll be doing

• You’ll accelerate the growth of the Monad blockchain by developing and executing creative strategies to drive user acquisition, leveraging all channels and all resources at our disposal
• You’ll refine our GTM strategy and identify the core marketing OKRs and KPIs that serve as our foundation for growth
• You’ll tighten the product language that drives our positioning. We need to clearly explain our USPs to both developers and users
• You’ll build, test, and refine funnels for user acquisition
• You’ll develop Monad brand and voice on twitter, and develop strategies for various media (reddit, tiktok, youtube, etc)
• You’ll use data and analytics for decision-making, establishing a culture of data-driven experimentation
• You’ll engage with the user and developer community to identify areas of future collaboration

Salary and benefits

The Role

After strict focus on developing our core technology, Monad blockchain is quickly approaching its Testnet v0 release. Ahead of that launch, we are excited to welcome a Developer Relations Engineer to lead the growth of Monad’s early builder community.

You will take on the critical responsibility of evangelizing Monad’s technology to experienced smart contract developers, explaining Monad’s unique selling points and showing them how easy it is to use Monad.

As the principal liason between builder communities and our engineering team, you will educate builders on Monad’s technology and uncover developer pain points that drive our team’s future priorities.

You’ll determine the most effective mechanisms for educating the community about Monad’s technology - a combination of talks at conferences, blog posts, videos, and documentation.

You’ll grow the Developer Relations team and mentor new members.

Requirements

Required prior experience:

• Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience
• Prior experience in DevRel for a layer-1 or layer-2 blockchain
• Excellent knowledge of Solidity and Typescript; strong knowledge of what it takes to ship a dapp
• Public speaking/teaching experience
• Technical writing experience

What you’ll be doing

• You’ll evangelize Monad’s technology to experienced Solidity developers, explaining Monad’s unique selling points and showing them how easy it is to use Monad.
• You’ll act as the principal liason between builder communities and our engineering team.
• You’ll develop educational content (blog posts, instructional videos) to teach developers how to benefit from Monad.
• You’ll build Monad’s developer community through discord, livestreams, and events, collaborating with the community team and growth team to host virtual and in-person events.
• You’ll build relationships with other crypto communities, incubators, and university groups. We’ll collaborate through projects like hackathons or events.
• You’ll aggregate feedback from the community to prioritize feature requests and improvements.
• You’ll hire other DevRel advocates and mentor junior members of the team.
• In the early days, your job will be to focus on the most immediate initiatives (evangelizing Monad to experienced Solidity developers), as well as growing the DevRel team.

• You’ll be building a DevRel program from scratch. You’ll have significant responsibility to shape the culture and direction of our effort, and your work will be massively impactful.
• Monad’s technology is unique. We go where very few teams go (rewriting the VM to enable parallelization and other optimizations; extreme emphasis on performance optimization). We are looking for someone who loves crypto, is creative, is ambitious, is organized, and has experience with and passion for building community.

You will engage the community directly, serving as a bridge between the core dev team and the community, and promoting good vibes, quality memes, and lots of fun.

You’ll also creatively devise ways for community members to contribute at this early stage, as well as ways to recognize community members who are contributing positively. You’ll develop an internal playbook for growing the community through initiatives like Ambassador Programs, events, and AMAs.

This role is on the critical path of Monad’s growth, and will ultimately have a massive impact on helping crypto achieve mass adoption.

Prior experience:

• You’re crypto-native: immersed in crypto culture, and aware of the prevailing personalities, memes, and major narratives and projects
• You’ve built and managed the community for a crypto / web3 project with clear KPIs
• You have extensive experience with Discord and Twitter
• You have experience organizing an ambassador program.
• You have experience managing other people and setting clear guidelines and expectations

• You’ll cultivate Monad’s community directly; you’ll personally be the voice of Monad in discord and twitter, helping to promote good vibes and fun, communicating our values and vision, and acting as a bridge between our community and our dev team.
• You’ll build our community management effort into a scalable effort by hiring and managing excellent Community Moderators. You’ll develop clear guidelines and an internal playbook for Community Moderators to help our community thrive.
• You’ll creatively devise avenues for community members to contribute at this early stage, as well as ways to recognize community members who are contributing positively.
• You’ll lead organization and coordination of online community events such as community calls, twitter spaces, AMAs, and contests.
