• As a Product Manager at Kaiko, you mainly focus on Product Life Cycle management. You will be accountable for your product line from inception to launch:
• Research: business research to design new products, new features, or incremental upgrades on existing ones, leveraging user research, market trends, competitive watches, etc.
• Product design: specifications and test cases writing, detailed and documented data on product design and how the product will be delivered to users, usable by devs to implement the product
• Product delivery: make sure specifications are clear, the technical specifications written by the tech team are aligned with the functional specifications (including ticket creation and prioritization) and deadlines are being met (progress monitoring). Once implementation is done, you’ll also be responsible for coordinating the testing phase with the help of the Operations and QA teams.
• Product launch: support marketing launch through dedicated case studies, build go-to-market with sales, and ensure Product Operations readiness to cater to new increments/products.
As part of the day-to-day activities, you’ll also be in charge of the following missions:
• Product improvements: collect feedback from Sales, Product Operations, or clients towards continuous improvements.
• Product Innovation:
• Monitor market trends on product needs and follow up with clients to test and validate new ideas.
• Work closely with the team towards the definition of the roadmap, which shall include - in a fast-changing, maturing environment - strategic product development to position Kaiko ahead of client demand.
• Sales and client support, whether it’s taking the form of competitive due diligence, bespoke analysis for clients, or market materials. As a product expert, you may also be invited to attend client meetings to answer questions about our research or products and represent Kaiko at conferences.

About you

• MSc. or higher in Finance, Applied Mathematics for Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Product Manager, preferably in financial markets.
• Strong knowledge of financial markets and products. Familiarity with cryptocurrency markets is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Technical affinity to engage with engineering teams on technical studies.
• Proficiency in Python for prototyping and data analysis.
• Strong lateral leadership to drive decision-making and influence the product lifecycle

• Team Management:
Lead and mentor a team of Product Managers, fostering growth, collaboration, and accountability.
Set clear goals, timelines, and expectations, ensuring alignment across the team and with company objectives.
• Derived Data Product Strategy:
Collaborate with the Managing Director to develop and execute the product strategy for the Analytics and Indices Business Units, ensuring alignment with the company’s mission and market demands.
Conduct research to deeply understand customer needs, ensuring that products deliver maximum value and usability.
Leverage client feedback, market trends, and emerging opportunities in the cryptocurrency sector to maintain a competitive edge.
• Product Development and Management:
Partner with quant, engineering, and marketing teams to oversee the development and enhancement of products.
Manage the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to delivery, ensuring on-time, on-budget and high-quality execution.
• Stakeholder Collaboration
Strengthen the link between product, tech, and revenue teams to ensure strategic alignment on product goals and deliverables.
Regularly communicate updates on product roadmaps and progress to various internal and external stakeholders.
• Performance Metrics and KPIs
Work with the Managing Director to define success metrics for both product lines.
Track product performance using data-driven insights to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and continuous improvement.
• Compliance and Security
Stay updated on industry regulations and security best practices within the cryptocurrency index space.
Ensure all products adhere to compliance standards and maintain robust security measures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master's degree in a related fieldProject management and leadership skills.
• Proven experience as a Product Manager with a strong background in cryptocurrency indices or financial markets.
• In-depth knowledge of cryptocurrency markets and index methodologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical mindset and the ability to make data-driven decisions.

• Product Strategy & Execution:
• Define and execute the product roadmap for Kaiko’s On-chain market data products.
• Lead the design, development, and evolution of blockchain data extraction and smart contract-based solutions.
• Align product strategy with business objectives, market trends, and customer needs.
• Work closely with engineering, sales, and business teams to build scalable On-chain data solutions
• Blockchain & DeFi Expertise:
• Deep dive into blockchain protocols to extract and structure relevant data (Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche, etc.).
• Analyze DeFi ecosystems, DEXs and lending protocols
• Stay up to date with emerging trends in DeFi, Layer 2 solutions, cross-chain technologies, and On-chain analytics.
• Read and interpret white papers, technical documentation, and governance proposals to identify key data points and business opportunities.
• Data Extraction & Market Data Innovation:
• Collaborate with engineers to optimize indexing, querying, and real-time processing of blockchain transactions.
• Define and improve On-chain data standards, schemas, and API products to deliver high-quality market data to clients.
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
• Challenge and push the engineering team to enhance data pipelines, On-chain interactions, and product architecture.
• Act as the interface between technical teams and business stakeholders to align priorities and drive execution.
• Engage with clients, partners, and internal teams to ensure market needs are met.
• Define and track KPIs to measure the success of On-chain data products.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager in blockchain, DeFi, or crypto market data.
• Strong understanding of blockchain protocols, DeFi mechanisms, and smart contracts.
• Previous experience in designing, launching, and managing blockchain data products.
• Knowledge of data indexing, blockchain explorers, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with On-chain data writing, oracle networks, and smart contract integrations.
• Ability to read and analyze white papers, technical documents, and smart contract code.
• Familiarity with Ethereum, Solana, Layer 2s, cross-chain solutions, and decentralized finance products.
• Proven ability to challenge engineering teams and drive discussions on technical solutions.
• Comfortable working with developers, sales, and researchers.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to make data-driven product decisions.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex technical topics into product strategies.

Nice to have

• Experience with gRPC, REST APIs, WebSockets, and blockchain indexing solutions.
• Previous work with oracles (Chainlink, Pyth, API3, etc.).
