Location: We are a fully remote team, and although we hire globally, there is a preference for this role to be based in Europe or remote +/- 4 hours CEST time.

About the role:

We are looking for an analytics-focused Team Lead that will support our data organization consisting of data engineers and analysts and help our product, business, and marketing teams make more informed data-driven decisions. You will manage the data team and work with engineers and product specialists across the company to help us gather, compile, analyze and visualize relevant data about our product and market trends.

This is a brand-new position. You will have a unique opportunity to contribute in the early stages of the company’s growth and help scale the data team. Don’t miss it!

What you’ll do:

• Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging data to inform product and business decisions and marketing content
• Help the data team to grow, plan and prioritize their initiatives for maximum impact across the company
• Together with experienced engineers on the team, architect and build our data engineering infrastructure for long-term sustainability and success
• Proactively suggest new data types that provide relevant insights to the product/business/marketing team
• Proactively observe and present trends and new insights to the wider team
• Ensure easy access to relevant data trends for all team members
• Connect with the Ethereum community, follow trends and stay up to date about new analytical tools that help extract relevant data from Ethereum
• Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data-gathering techniques

Who you are:

• You have 5+ years of relevant experience, partly in a leadership role
• You are obsessed with numbers and a firm believer in data-driven decision making
• Familiarity with the following software/tools:
  • Proficiency in querying databases and using statistical computer languages (SQL, GraphQL, Pandas, etc.)
  • Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques
  • Experience analyzing data from 3rd party providers using tools such as Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Dune Analytics, etc
  • Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating across teams
• A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with an emphasis on product development
• Self-motivated and proactive team player, yet also able to multi-task and work independently

It’s a plus if you have the following:

• Experience working with and creating data architectures
• Coding knowledge and experience with several languages: Python, Rust, JavaScript, etc

About the role

CoW Protocol is looking for a world-class designer that will build, maintain, and continually execute an iconic visual identity for its consumer-facing brands, CoW Swap & CoW Protocol. The successful candidate will join a fast-paced, dynamic startup with significant traction and growth trajectory. They will report to the Head of Marketing, and work hand-in-hand with our Principal UI Designer.

What you’ll do

• Build an iconic visual identity for CoW Swap and CoW Protocol, in collaboration with our Principal UI Designer
• Set up and continually maintain a comprehensive design system in Figma
• Partner with a copywriter (future hire) to develop breakthrough campaign ideas and executions that promote various aspects of CoW Swap
• Design the majority of our consumer-facing visuals (yourself), including graphics, charts, video edits, and animations for our social channels, website, docs, forum, etc.
• Create digital ads (with and without motion) for social media, display, and other channels
• Create physical swag, sticker packs, banners, posters, OOH ads, and other collateral for a number of conferences and industry events where CoW Swap has a presence
• Assist the frontend team by rapidly designing and implementing new UX/UI elements that push the boundaries of decentralized interface design, with an eye toward performance, accessibility, and fun
• Help make our landing pages easily understandable and enjoyable to interact with
• Build design into a competitive advantage for CoW Swap

Who you are

• 8+ years working on visual design for iconic brands
• Demonstrated interest in DeFi and/or blockchain/crypto/web3
• Technically excellent in all aspects of graphic design
• Skilled in motion design, animation, and video editing
• Highly creative; capable of big, conceptual thinking
• Appetite to create best-in-class work on small scales (i.e. social posts, infographics, interaction design) as well as large
• Understands how brands work, and how brands grow
• Understands the creative process
• Understands core UX/UI design principles
• Understands how people behave online, how memes work, etc.
• High degree of attention to detail
• Able to identify opportunities for impact and work independently
• Skilled in the English language – able to suggest copy improvements, catch grammar mistakes, etc.

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated backend/research engineer who is fluent in rust to help us build the next generation of decentralized trading protocols. As part of the Innovation Team, you will be exposed to the newest development in the blockchain space. You will build prototypes for new business cases such as multi-chain swaps or adapt the current protocol for new chains. Furthermore, you will be responsible for ensuring that new features/systems are built in a reliable and maintainable manner with the rest of the team. To ensure the compatibility of new ideas with the current system, you will interact with many of the other groups within CowSwap.

You will have the opportunity to work with us in one of our existing co-working spaces in Berlin or Lisbon. Alternatively, you can join us as a remote employee and work from your hometown, where we can also provide membership for a local coworking space.

What you will do

• Develop new ideas and features to make the Cowswap experience better: this involves building prototypes and expanding our Rust backend infrastructure, as well as writing new smart contracts and scripts in TypeScript
• Extend the reach of Cowswap by deploying to new blockchains or L2- systems: Smart contract adaptions, Backend infrastructure features, and integrations
• Research new business use-cases
• Work closely with researchers and product managers to investigate current use cases and come up with new solutions for challenging technological problems
• Deliver high-quality code for features from concept until production
• Provide insight on your code: define Grafana metrics to monitor the health of our production systems
• Give thoughtful and in-depth code reviews of your colleagues’ contributions to our open-source codebase

Who you are

• You have 3+ years of experience in software development, preferably in a system engineering language like Rust
• You have excellent computer science, programming, and algorithmic skills
• Experience with architecting complex software systems
• You care deeply about the quality and readability of your code
• You proactively give technical direction such as improving performance, preventing issues, data usage, refactoring the codebase
• You are a team player, a strong communicator, and love to share your knowledge with others
• You collaborate effectively with a remote-first team on a large, open-source codebase
• You are enthusiastic about web3

It’s a plus if you bring:

• Experience within the blockchain space
• Experience with smart contract development in solidity
