Coinbase is looking for a highly motivated accounting professional to join our Subscriptions and Services Revenue Accounting team and play a key role in our continued growth and achievement of operational excellence. The Senior Revenue Accountant must possess strong accounting and operational expertise, an ability to communicate and work with various teams outside of Finance (such as Data, Coverage, Business Development and M&A), and a desire to make a meaningful impact on a dynamic, high-growth technology company.

Reporting to the Manager, Subscription & Services Revenue, the Senior Revenue Accountant will work with various cross functional teams within the Company and requires someone with impeccable attention to detail, a financial and analytic mindset and knowledge of billing and revenue recognition. This position will impact a rapidly growing organization and offers career development opportunities for the right candidate.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

• Perform or review monthly close activities for Subscription & Services Revenue (existing and future expansion)
• Partner with Product, Engineering and other Finance teams to understand new business models related to Coinbase Cloud and Custody revenue streams, and assist with design and implementation of scalable finance operational processes and systems to support the business.
• Have ownership and accountability for accuracy, timeliness, effectiveness and efficiency of certain processes related to revenue including review of contracts, accounting policies and memos, month-end close, deferred revenue, gross-to-net contra-revenue accruals, accounts receivable, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Responsible for monthly invoicing and related collections of Subscription & Services billings
• Assist with establishing, implementing and managing certain global processes for the accounting of Subscription & Services Revenue, ensuring SOX compliance and operational excellence.
• Assist with the preparation of quarterly audit schedules and prepare periodic revenue and deferred revenue reports to support internal and external reporting requirements
• Implement and document processes and procedures as required including Sarbanes Oxley compliance
• Support and participate on revenue related projects and M&A activity
• Perform special, ad-hoc projects in Accounting/Finance as requested

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

• Minimum of 5 years working in public accounting or in the fintech/financial services industries
• BA/BS in Accounting or related field / CPA highly preferred
• Understanding of ASC 606 Revenue Recognition
• Possess excellent analytical skills (MS Excel/ G-Suite), business partnering, problem solving and prioritization skills
• Able to work well in a dynamic environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements, work autonomously and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong work ethic and team player

Nice to haves:

• Experience with customer service
• Experience working in Netsuite, FloQast and G-Suite
• Basic knowledge of blockchain technology and the crypto economy

The International Team in Coinbase is tasked with expanding the presence and reach of Coinbase products to countries across the globe. We enable easy access to fiat payment rails and ensure a smooth and delightful onboarding experience that meets our high bar on regulatory compliance to customers in countries where Coinbase is not currently present.Once the foundational work for giving users access to crypto is completed, we will then start building products that make sense in the context of the particular country/region.

You will solve unique, large scale, highly complex technical problems, bridging the constraints posed by web-scale applications and blockchain technology. You will help the Coinbase group build the next generation of systems to make digital assets and blockchain cryptocurrency accessible across the globe, operating real-time applications with high frequency, low latency updates, and managing the most secure, dockerized infrastructure running in the cloud.

What you'll be doing: ●  Provide support to Coinbase group companies by building new services to meet critical product and business needs using Golang. ●  Design scalable systems to solve novel problems with modern cloud technology and industry best practices. ●  Write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of the Coinbase customers. As an Associate Product Manager (APM), you’ll play a critical role in building the next generation of crypto products.  In this capacity, you’ll partner with engineering, design and cross-functional teams to develop and build mission critical features and platforms.  Our APMs and Product Managers play a pivotal role in shaping the future of cryptocurrency and creating an open financial system for the world.

The APM Program is a two year program where you will join two teams across our entire Product organization for approximately two 12-month rotations. Please note, the start date for this program will be August 2023.

• Define product requirements and collaborate with a cross-functional team on a frequent basis to execute on product launches. 
• Develop and execute against a product strategy that delivers the highest impact to your team, working closely with engineering, design, data and other stakeholders to set goals.

  • Pursuing either a bachelor's or master's degree with less than 2 years of any full-time work experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication, relationship management and organizational skills.
  • Deep analytical, prioritization and problem solving skills.
  • Previous experience working in software product management (optional).

As a Consumer Support Operations Associate Manager,  you will lead a team of highly motivated customer support professionals whose performance is critical to Coinbase achieving its mission. Using your customer support, operations and team management skills you will play a crucial role ensuring we deliver an outstanding customer experience globally.

Team/ Role Paragraph: We are seeking an experienced compliance leader to head Coinbase Compliance’s support for market expansion efforts. This includes leading a team which provides strategic guidance to business and product leaders, scopes and plans for new market expansion, and evaluates new product launches across compliance disciplines. Coinbase is looking for a highly motivated accounting professional to join our Accounting team and play a key role in our continued growth and achievement of operational excellence.  The Senior/Staff Global GL Operations Accountant must possess strong accounting and operational expertise, an ability to operate effectively in a rapidly scaling environment, and effective interpersonal communication skills.

Reporting to the GL Operations lead, the Senior/Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting in all areas of the company’s operational accounting. The position will involve collaborating with a team of over 5 individuals. This position will directly own Global GL accounting, corporate cash management and  reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy of expenses, accounts payable, capitalisation of property plant and equipment, accounting of leases, accounting and amortisation of prepaid expenses amongst others. • Support Global general ledger accounting, including ensuring completeness of expense accruals, reconciling prepaid expenses and fixed asset balances
• Support with month end and quarter end close book close process and ensuring accounting and reconciliations are performed in a timely manner   
• Own and maintain various areas of the company’s operational accounting, review daily journals and review valid supporting schedules.
• Own the company’s Global Payroll accounting, review payroll journals and review valid supporting documents.

The Head of Compliance and MLRO will have overall responsibility for the establishment and maintenance of effective anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) policies and procedures, systems and controls. The Head of Compliance in Germany will report to the Head of Compliance for Core Markets and will be based in Germany, with a dotted reporting line to the Board of Coinbase Germany. This person will collaborate with the relevant teams operating under the Global AML program both domestically and internationally and will serve as the central point of contact for senior leadership on all AML program related matters. The role will assist senior compliance leadership in the coordination of KYC/Onboarding, Investigations and Compliance Tools and Risk Analytics teams, and will provide a centralized line of sight into the overall AML program. The role will require extensive cross functional collaboration and frequent third party and regulator interactions. 

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

The Head of Compliance / MLRO, with assistance from the Compliance team, is responsible for: 

-Ensuring compliance with German regulatory requirements;-Maintaining the Compliance and AML Programmes, including: -Drafting, implementing and maintaining the Programme’s related procedures;  -Reviewing and updating the risk assessment at least annually or as otherwise required; -Updating the Programme as required, for example, when relevant regulatory changes occur or additional guidance from regulating agencies is provided; -Updating the Programme when changes to products and/or services occur; and-Ensuring adequate levels of staffing are in place to implement the Programme.-The creation and development of a uniform undertaking-specific risk assessment or a coordinated series of undertaking-specific risk assessments (section 5 of the  AMLA); -Acting as the nominated officer for the purpose of receiving, assessing and filing suspicious transaction reports (to the FIU through the “goAML” IT application); -Holds the function of the central crime prevention office as per Sec. 25h KwG; -Producing, at least on an annual basis, a report on the Company’s AML/CFT activities; -Monitoring the effectiveness of the Programme and AML/CTF compliance and taking corrective action to track and remedy any deficiencies; -Ensuring relevant employees within the Company and outsource service providers receive AML/CTF training and that the Company maintains training and attendance records.

The MLRO must ensure the following: 

-The appropriateness and effectiveness of the organisational and work instructions established and of the business and customer-related internal 2Sec. 7(5) of the AML German Act 1Sec. 7(4) of the AML German Act and Sec. 3.2 BaFin‘s AML guidelines Anti-Money Laundering & Counter Terrorist Financing Policy 8 Coinbase Germany-GmbH Internal protection systems of the undertaking (Sect. 6 of the AML German Act) by means of risk-based monitoring activities, within the scope of a structured approach.-Ensuring appropriate review any of changes to AML/CTF-related laws, regulations, guidance, or regulatory expectations and ensuring that the Company implements processes to remain in full compliance with its AML/CTF obligations and regulatory expectations; -Ensuring appropriate review of the AML/CTF implications of any new or changed products, services, initiatives, or distribution channels and advising Executive Management on necessary steps to mitigate AML/CTF risk; -Promptly alerting the Board and Executive Management to any material issues of AML/CTF non-compliance, and instituting and monitoring corrective action; -Periodic reporting to the Board and Executive Management on the state of AML/CTF compliance and any significant emerging issues; -Managing regulatory relationships, any inspections or reviews and the examination process in relation to AML/CTF.

The RIM Team advises the business on record retention and governance, defensible disposition, and information risks, as well as E-Discovery and legal hold services to all Coinbase’s business units. The RIM Team is managed by the RIM Attorney who owns, maintains, and operates the RIM programs, including records management, privacy, Legal Hold and E-Discovery, manages E-Discovery vendor relationships, and interfaces with other key departments.

The RIM eDiscovery Lead is expected to liaise with Coinbase’s Responsible Attorneys, litigation paralegals, outside counsel, E-Discovery service providers, Coinbase’s IT team and IT business partners, and Data Privacy to effectively manage E-Discovery and information governance projects.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

●  Work in close coordination with the RIM Attorney, Responsible Attorneys, and Paralegals to issue Legal Hold Notices, reminders, and releases

●  Monitor acknowledgement of Legal Hold Notices and issue escalation notices as needed

●  Conduct and document custodian interviews (to identify locations of relevant documents and other potential custodians) with legal hold custodians; conduct follow-up interviews as needed

●  Collect or facilitate collection of devices, electronically stored information (“ESI”), and physical assets for relevant matters

●  Manage the process for preservation and collection (where required) of documents subject to legal hold from legal hold custodians who transfer between departments or offboard

●  Work in close coordination with Responsible Attorneys to identify key terms and concepts as part of early case assessment; refine the terms and concepts as necessary to properly focus search parameters

●  Assist in the evaluation, selection, and management of vendors and service providers for E-Discovery and review services

●  Liaise with IT on the implementation of processes and procedures to support Legal Hold and records and information management requirements, particularly with respect to non-custodial data and systems including developing solutions for form of production

●  Work in close coordination with the RIM Attorney and IT to develop strategies to identify, preserve, and collect data from the G-Suite

●  Monitor electronic document productions made by outside counsel

●  Manage any document libraries that the Company may establish of documents frequently called for in matter production

●  Manage the process for case closure at the conclusion of a matter

● Support Records Management team in IT projects to retire, decommission or otherwise migrate data from key systems to ensure compliance with RIM policies and legal requirements

●  Work in close coordination with the RIM Attorney and IT to develop strategies related to retention of Records and information across the G-Suite

●  Coordinate with IT or vendors to track, troubleshoot and resolve issues with Legal Hold and E-Discovery software

●  Assist IT or vendors with software installations and upgrades including testing and issue identification and resolution

●  Participate in the development and maintenance of data maps/data lineage diagrams to understand where Coinbase data resides and how data sources interact with one another

●  Liaise with Records Management team to develop and refine processes to facilitate defensible destruction of ESI and physical assets

●  Participate in the development of training and other educational materials related to Legal Hold and other E-Discovery processes, including the defensible disposition of information and physical assets

●  Participate in the Data Preservation Team

●  Stay current on EDRM trends and all aspects of Information Governance that

impact his/her practice area

●  Stay abreast of modifications and enhancements to the eDiscovery and retention features of the Google product offering

Required Qualifications:

●  Extensive knowledge of the eDiscovery and retention capabilities within the Google product offering

●  Extensive knowledge of technology, IT systems and infrastructure, computer networking and the discovery-relevant aspects of new and emerging technologies such as data created with mobile and cloud-based applications

●  Understanding of computer forensics and forensically sound collection processes and technologies.

●  Proficiency with the use of Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

We're looking for a Head of Cyber Security Operations to join the cyber security team, reporting directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). • CTI - Responsible for tracking and reporting on advanced threat actors targeting Coinbase and our customers.  Work with enterprise teams to adjust product security and control suites to proactively prevent ATO and other malicious attacks.  

• Insider Threat - Evolve and maintain our capability to identify and track potential internal threats to the enterprise 

• Trust & Security - Evolve and maintain a team of investigators tased with supporting customers who suffer from significant loss events related to ATO or other security issues that impact retail financial customers.

• Cyber Technology Suite - Provide input on capability and maturity requirements to meet organizational needs for cyber technologies, and inform the strategy to hire, build, or buy the right resources to meet those requirements

• Litigation Support - Provide expertise in support of any litigation activity with cybersecurity implications or claims

What We Look For In You (ie. Job Requirements)

• 10+ years of work experience architecting, developing, and launching security operations functions and capabilities..

• Experience prioritizing workload based upon overall cyber risk and Return on Investment.

As a Push Payments Analyst on the Payments Risk Operations team, you’ll be fully responsible for identifying and mitigating payments fraud risk on one of our critical payment rails without negatively impacting core metrics and the broader customer experience. This role will report to the Manager of Push Payments within Risk Operations, and will be based remotely in Ireland. 

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

• Identify, investigate and mitigate fraudulent European payment methods (SEPA, iDEAL, UK Faster Payments, etc.) deposit activity.
• Implement logic targeting bad actors and high-risk behavior associated with unauthorized deposit activity across multiple regions.
• Review and respond to alerts regarding anomalous customer and transaction behavior.
• Measure fraud performance across European payment methods, develop core metrics, and create dashboards to track and understand them.
• Proactively identify and close gaps in our monitoring.
• Own risk controls from end-to-end and scale processes to provide appropriate coverage as we expand our business.
• Own reporting processes and communication with relevant banking partners.
• Work with internal stakeholders in Product, Growth, Data Science and Engineering to develop and drive forward custom risk management strategies and techniques for different geographies.
• Use data to make risk decisions impacting large segments of our customer population; effectively measure and assess associated tradeoffs using quantitative analysis.

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

• 4+ years relevant experience.
• 2+ years fighting SEPA or other push payment fraud in an e-commerce or financial services environment.
• 2+ years of experience in data analysis, working with databases, and querying (e.g., SQL, MySQL, etc).
• BA / BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong knowledge of European monetary policy, push payment processes, and fraud claim investigations.
• A passion for fighting fraud and abuse, and the curiosity to self-drive investigations, identify patterns, and find the root cause.
• Experience in data analyses using SQL.
• Experience with data visualization and storytelling using Looker, Tableau or other business intelligence platforms.
