It is a multidisciplinary exercise in distributed systems, decentralised finance, blockchain consensus mechanisms, cyber security, applied cryptography, and front end tooling. Our engineering team of 15 is on the lookout for additional people to tackle this challenge with us. We’re mostly based in Berlin, Germany.

What’s the Job?

This role is open to a European based software engineer who has strong experience in the particulars of Rust. We require someone who specialises in low-level optimisation, error handling, and can aide and advise the team and dealing with the subtlties and nuances of the language. Experience in a similar C based programming language, such as C++, or any strictly typed language is also a plus. Apparently we are one of the few companies in Europe who have built the entire backend in Rust from day one, so that’s neat.

We have multiple possible roles within our backend engineering team, all rust-based.

Your skills will be put towards these main areas:

• The Chainflip Engine: this sidecar binary works in tandem with the State Chain to power our decentralised threshold signature protocol, and to witness events happening in the outside world. An in-depth knowledge of the challenges of distributed systems, networking protocols, cryptography, and Rust’s async features (specifically the tokio stack) would be great to have.
• The State Chain: we are developing our own standalone blockchain using the substrate blockchain development framework. Previous experience of working with complex type systems would be beneficial here, as would some knowledge of how blockchains work internally, but not nescessary.

What’s the Job?

This role is open to a European based Senior Full Stack Engineer who wants to work in Web3. Experience in TypeScript is ideal, but the role is open to those that can call themselves a true Full Stack and have an interest in the Web3/Blockchain space.

If you join us, you will likely focus your efforts on several of these three projects depending on your skills and interests:

• State Chain Tooling: we are developing our own standalone blockchain using the substrate blockchain development framework. The Web team has been building out our own custom block explorer and other associated tooling necessary for a fully-featured blockchain project. Previous experience of working with complex type systems would be beneficial here, as would some knowledge of how blockchains work internally.
• The Swapping Interface: We are developing a on-chain trading system that requires the development of advanced web-based quoting systems that plug into real-time on-chain data and other data sources to quote prices an relay user intents to our blockchain.
• Scalability and Security projects: We need to develop a robust system for algorithmically detecting abuse of open web services called Relayers on our network.

No matter which project you work on, you will be exposed to all of the tough problems and trade-offs that decentralised finance and blockchains have to offer.

What’s the Job?

We are looking for a Support Engineer with a focus on supporting our users, especially our validator operators, to succeed in securely operating their own infrastructure in the interests of creating and maintain a stable, secure, and smooth blockchain protocol.

As we move towards product launch, your job will be to gather feedback, engage with community members and stakeholders, and generally help track, resolve, and document issues and their fixes.

• Reporting to the Platform (Infrastructure, Security, and DevOps) lead, and assisting the Head of Communications on technical matters
• Directly support the Platform team to deploy, test, and maintain our blockchain test network and production network environments
• Provide technical support to our validator community and end users in our community channels
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues raised by users and the development team
• Implement and test smaller scale user issues where appropriate in our repositories
• Create and maintain a ticketing system for external users
• Track system issues through to resolution, within agreed time limits
• Talk users through correctly configuring their own deployments, collecting logging information, and implementing fixes

What’s the Job?

We are looking for a new Ecosystem Development Manager with a focus on ecosystem relations and support for the next phase of our business. As we move towards product launch, your job will be to utilise our extensive contact list and network to get in touch with other projects, aggregators, multi-chain wallets, and any other applicable dApp or project and establish working relationships. Our goal will be to get the Chainflip DEX integrated into as many of these products as possible, and in many cases get them integrated into our as well.

• Directly assist the CEO by conducting calls with external stakeholders, providing company updates, building relationships, and making requests on behalf of the project
• Oversee investor relations, ensuring that investors and the protocol stakeholders are holding up their obligations
• Actively conduct outreach campaigns to secure partnerships, integrations, and other opportunities for our products and protocols
• Manage the relations with external partners from end-to-end, including introduction, education, integration, and after-care.
• Provide external parties with extensive information about our products to aid them in integrating our software
• Maintain databases of external contacts using CRM or other related software to ensure we can maintain relationships with external parties

• Tools and testing: security and robustness of our network will be paramount. We need to provide secure and user-friendly tools for our validators to manage their nodes. Knowledge of security best-practices and/or a pedantic and exhaustive attitude to testing would be a big plus here.

We’re looking for a Graphic Designer that is able to help with various challenges that pop up during the exciting launch phase of our company.

Tasks include:

• Develop illustrations of concepts, graphics, and layouts for all front-facing collateral such as blogs, tweets, community events, and more
• Work closely with the product team on design artefacts (illustrations, animations, icons) for our various products
• Create educational content from voice over scripts, both longer and shorter formats using After Effects
• Support marketing requests for our social media channels, articles, understand marketing initiatives, strategic positioning, and target audience, especially when it comes to creating social media posts
• Acting upon critique and design feedback
• Help maintain & improve the brand visual identity

Who You’d Work With

You will work under the Head of Communications with the mentorship of our Lead Designer. On top of that our CEO is always involved in bigger communication and design questions. Additionally, you’d be working with the Head of Business Development and potentially some of our Web Engineers on a semi-regular basis. At the moment we have a workforce of 17 (a number that will definitely grow over the course of the next 6-12 months) in our Berlin office, so these are the people you’d be seeing regularly.

What’s the Job?

We are looking for a new Head of Business Development with a focus on technical sales and support for the next phase of our business. As we move towards product launch, your job will be to utilise our extensive contact list and network to get in touch with other projects, aggregators, multi-chain wallets, and any other applicable dApp or project and establish working relationships. Our goal will be to get the Chainflip DEX integrated into as many of these products as possible, and in many cases get them integrated into our as well.

You will need to build and maintain relationships, find out what these projects need to utilise Chainflip, and offer them resources from within the Chainflip team to ensure we can secure these integrations.

The role may also involve Investor Relations, directly assisting the CEO in providing updates for and helping to guide existing investors in the project as required.

Who You’d Work With

You will report directly to the CEO and join the Business Development and Communications arm of the business. This is a relatively small team at the moment, but as we approach and reach launch, we will need everything we’ve got to ensure a smooth token and network launch, and then subsequently sufficient integrations to carry the product forward with a decent user base from Day 1.

Aside from that, you’d also be working with the product managers, CTO, and development team to ensure our partners get what they need to succeed at using Chainflip as the key solution in the cross-chain space.

Who Should Apply?

We are looking for a sales oriented person that has a deep understanding of crypto markets and all relevant cornerstones. These include for example crypto exchanges, dexes, daaps and chain tools. The candidate should be personable and outgoing with the ability and desire to acquire a sufficient level of technical knowledge to carry out this role autonomously.

Ideally, you will be able to relocate to Berlin. We work out of our bright and relaxed Kreuzberg offices 4 of 5 days a week, with partial remote options possible, and an annual offsite planned each February. Salaries and Token packages are on offer that are commensurate with skill and experience. Please indicate your expected salary when applying, and we will take that into consideration during the interview process.
