Working for Bebop

We are looking for a Front-End Engineer who is passionate about building products/applications that people find useful and that help grow the business. You will be responsible for all things Front-end related; this includes developing front end applications for Bebop as well as internal trading applications. A great advantage of this position is that it is varied, and you will have a unique opportunity to shape it, including selecting significant parts of the tech stack.

Hard Skills Requirements

• Knowledge of front-end tech stack: node.js, npm, javascript, typescript and popular frameworks such as React (please have examples front-ends that you built ready)

Nice to have requirements

• Basic understanding of infrastructure required for frontend/servers: CDN, Cloudflare or similar, webservers.
• Experience with Web3 is a strong plus, but not mandatory
• Python knowledge is a strong plus, but not mandatory

Business Development and Partnerships at Bebop

You will be responsible for growing Bebop in the B2B space to become one of the leading decentralized trading platforms. You will devise the strategy and make it happen by utilising your best business sense, persuasion skills, and knowledge of web3 space creativity. You will work in a small dynamic team of developers, product, community and design professionals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a business development strategy to drive partnerships and growth for Bebop
• Build relationships with key stakeholders in the DeFi and crypto communities, including investors, partners, and B2B clients, to ensure successful collaboration and business growth.
• Identify and evaluate potential partnership opportunities, and negotiate agreements and contracts to ensure the best possible terms for Bebop.
• Collaborate with the marketing and product teams to develop go-to-market strategies and ensure successful product features launches.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify industry trends and opportunities, to inform business decisions. This includes collecting customer feedback, testing product features, launch plans, etc
• Represent Bebop at conferences, events, and other industry gatherings to drive brand awareness

Requirements

• Strong experience in business development, partnerships, or growth function within a high-performing firm.
• Track record of creating a tangible impact on key metrics, and be ready to give examples
• Experience working for a DeFi protocol is an advantage.
• Understanding of DeFi protocols, Trading, and the cryptocurrency industry is a strong advantage; willingness, aptitude and curiosity to understand the fundamentals of blockchain technologies and DeFi trading
• Experience with a wide range of growth/business development topics; you don’t need to have experience with all, but should be able to figure any out
• Experience negotiating and managing partnership agreements and contracts.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and partners.
• Excellent problem-solving skills - you should be able to think through solutions from first principles and find solutions

You will lead the engineering team, design back-end and front-end architecture, write and release top quality code and refine DevOps practices. Hard Skills Requirements

• 4+ years of demonstrable engineering experience in either a professional and personal capacity.
• Full stack awareness with focus on componentisation, managing applications/microservices and API designs.
• Architecting systems that manage financial data, such as a trade order lifecycle from request to execution.
• Strong working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and Python3.8+ and OOP principles.
• Familiarity with common network protocols such as HTTP, WS and FIX.
• General clean code habits, along with basic DevOps understanding of items such as Git, AWS, Jenkins, standard security practices and Linux based operating systems
• Blockchain Fundamentals such as consensus mechanisms, nodes, web3.

What will you work on

A great advantage of this position is that it is varied, and it is also up to you to shape it in the direction that matches your talents and company needs. Projects may include connecting to a new DeFi protocol or new blockchain (e.g. Solana), designing and building a new smart contract, owning development for a specific protocol or DEX exchange and liaising with traders to maximize return on capital and maintain our competitive edge. You will be tracking all major developments for the particular chains, assessing and executing trading opportunities, generating insights, prioritizing them and building a solution from scratch. We will share more technical details in the interviews. The point is: there is no limit set by the company!

Hard skill requirements

• Deep understanding of data types and algorithms - we will test! 
• Understanding of blockchain, smart contracts, Ethereum and decentralized protocols,
• Knowledge of other chains (Solana, Polkadot) is an advantage
• Programming fundamentals (in C++, C#, Java, OOP)
• Blockchain fundamentals (consensus, nodes, miners, forks, transactions, web3)
• 2-3 years development on integrating/working on DeFi projects and protocols is an advantage, but if you are a self-taught genius or a DeFi enthusiast working on own projects, that may work too
• Trading knowledge isn’t required but willingness and curiosity to learn algorithmic, high-frequency, quantitative, market making trading is crucial
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills

What will you work on

We are looking for a Graduate/Junior Software Developer in DeFi with strong fundamental background in coding and curiosity about DeFi, HFT, market making and crypto trading. At Bebop, you will have the opportunity to get a deeper understanding of how various DEX’s trade and be responsible for optimising the execution on those venues, whilst also getting advice and guidance from very experienced developers and traders, including the founders/management team. You will get a lot of independence and responsibility right away, and you’ll learn at an unprecedented speed! No legacy systems, no corporate bureaucracy, no multiple levels of approvals. It is up to you to make an impact. You will act like an owner and your incentives will be completely aligned with those of the company!

Hard skill requirements

• Familiar with at least two of the following programming languages (in Python, Rust, Java, C++)
• Curiosity in the DeFi space proven by doing extra-curricular project/work/research in this space (CeFi trading does not count!)
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
• Understanding concepts of asynchronous IO
• Familiarity with Linux/git
• Trading knowledge isn’t required but willingness and curiosity to learn algorithmic, high-frequency, quantitative, market making trading and blockchain fundamentals is crucial

Working for Bebop

Head of Business Operations will be responsible for growing the protocol from 0 to 1, to become one of the largest protocols in its vertical.  You will be responsible for setting up and scaling all major business aspects of the business and closely working with the rest of the star team to deliver a super ambitious and exciting roadmap. . We are looking for an experienced operator  who is able to quickly and reliably act on all of the initiatives, set up related processes and scale operations. The role can expand based on the candidate’s experience and ambition - there is no limit set by the company! You should have the ability to do anything yourself and hire a team to support if and when required.

Some key responsibilities and projects are described below:

• Drive the execution of strategic objectives: work closely with senior management to define objectives and drive the execution of related work streams across all key operations function and beyond
• Build functional teams: help build high performance team  across technology, operations (finance, support), product, marketing & community
• Business structuring and tokenomics: work with internal and external legal, tax, compliance and secretarial service advisers to solve or optimize a wide range of processes; do own research and problem solving
• Set up operations: set up banking and financial operations, work closely with different teams to identify and implement necessary processes
• Set up recruitment efforts: drive all recruitment strategy for the protocol, set up recruitment function and ability to hire remote teams 
• Drive go-to-market: Work closely with product and marketing to tailor the product for specific target audiences and geographies and establish relevant presence 
• “Office” operations: office tools and processes, employment agreements, compensation and incentivization of employees, arrangement of remote and in-person work

Requirements

• We are looking for two profiles: 1) An experienced operator or an entrepreneur, from a high functioning DeFi protocol or other crypto native company, or 2) An experienced manager from  a high-performance environment, such as management consulting, investment banking,  VC-backed startup, etc.
• Excellent problem solving skills - you do not rely on advisors, specialists or “other departments”, you are able to think from first principles and figure out how to do anything; we will test
• Excellent organizational skills - you are known for good planning, keeping track of all things big and small,  making sure nothing falls between the cracks and you can be relied on to hit the deadlines; Bias to action - driven by seeing results and getting things done, very hands-on, proactive and practical
• Strong communication skills - be able to communicate clearly, concisely and listen well, keep everyone informed at all levels
• Ability and interest to learn about new technologies and concepts fast, both on conceptual (e.g. how DeFi protocols work) and hands-on (how to use automation tools) levels
• Culture alignment: owner mentality, healthy level of ambition and hunger, willing to work hard incl non-standard hours, prepared to take calculated risk and have some “skin in the game” typical of early startup employees
• BSc/MSc degree in business or quantitative fields; MBA or a strong accelerator program (Y Combinator, etc) would be an advantage
